Victorious Week for Boys’ Ice Hockey, Mixed Results for Girls’ Ice Hockey

The East Haven boys’ ice hockey team demonstrated an outstanding performance in their recent game against Lyman Hall on February 3, securing a commendable 2-1 victory. The Yellowjackets’ goals were skillfully achieved in the first period, with John D’Albero and Lorenzo Defilio each making a significant contribution. Their success was further amplified by the crucial assists provided by Preston Cantele and Griffin McGlinchey. Furthermore, Mike Fritz showcased a solid performance in front of the net, allowing only one goal and making 23 saves.

On the other hand, the Hand ice hockey co-op team experienced a challenging week with a series of games. Their week started with a 3-3 tie against Hamden Co-op, featuring a remarkable hat trick from Faith Minickene. However, they faced a setback in a subsequent 2-1 defeat against Masuk Co-op, with Hannah Rich securing the lone goal for the Tigers in that match. Nonetheless, the week concluded with a positive note for the Hand team as they secured a 3-2 victory against West Haven/SHA, with Kendall Dobratz, Taylor Manchanda, and Jaimey DiNapoli exhibiting impressive performance as the goal scorers.

The boys’ ice hockey team undoubtedly delivered a thrilling and well-deserved win, effectively showcasing their strength and teamwork on the ice. Conversely, the girls’ team navigated through tough competition and managed to pull off a win and a tie, underscoring their resilience and determination.

It is evident that both teams have displayed exceptional skill and dedication, reflecting their unwavering commitment to hard work and training. Heartfelt congratulations to the boys’ ice hockey team for their remarkable victory, and kudos to the girls’ ice hockey team for their perseverance and unwavering effort throughout the week. We eagerly anticipate witnessing more exhilarating games from both teams in the future.
