As we approach the latter part of the 2023-24 regular season, it is prudent to assess the current standing of the basketball teams from Durango, Bayfield, and Ignacio within the league.
In the 5A Southwestern League, Fruita Monument is currently leading with an impressive 20-0 overall record and a perfect 5-0 in league play. Grand Junction closely follows with a 13-6 overall record and a 2-3 league play record. Montrose and Grand Junction Central are tied with a 2-3 league play record each. Durango currently holds an 8-10 overall record and 1-3 in league play.
Moving on to the 4A Southwest League, Fruita Monument maintains its dominance with a 16-2 overall record and a flawless 5-0 league play record. Grand Junction Central follows with an 11-9 overall record and a 4-1 league play record, while Montrose sits at 12-5 overall and 2-3 in league play. Durango currently stands at 8-10 overall and 1-3 in league play. Grand Junction is at the bottom with a 5-14 overall record and 0-5 in league play.
In the 3A Intermountain League, Pagosa Springs leads with an outstanding 17-1 overall record and an unbeatable 8-0 league play record. Centauri follows with a 10-5 overall record and 5-2 in league play, while Alamosa holds an 11-7 overall record and a 4-4 league play record. Ignacio currently holds a 6-9 overall record, with 2-5 in league play, while Montezuma-Cortez and Bayfield stand at 5-10 and 3-13 overall, respectively, with 2-5 and 1-6 in league play.
For the 3A Intermountain League for girls’ teams, Pagosa Springs maintains its lead with a 14-4 overall record and a strong 7-1 league play record. Centauri holds a 10-5 overall record and a 4-3 league play record, while Montezuma-Cortez, Alamosa, and Ignacio follow closely behind. Bayfield rounds out the standings with a 3-11 overall record and 0-7 in league play.
