In an exciting game at the Cam Henderson Center, the Marshall Thundering Herd’s Men’s Basketball team delivered an impressive three-point shooting performance against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, ultimately securing a convincing 91-76 victory on Saturday, February 3rd.
Head Coach of the Thundering Herd, Dan D’Antoni, emphasized the significance of accurate shooting in basketball, a sentiment reflected in his team’s outstanding performance on the court. Following a disappointing loss to the Old Dominion Monarchs, Marshall executed a commendable 51% shooting from the field, including 14 successful three-pointers, showcasing a significant improvement in their offensive capability.
The game exhibited a high level of energy from both teams, with the Thundering Herd out-rebounding their opponents 40-35 and dominating in both halves, leading by sixteen points at halftime and ultimately securing the victory.
Notably, senior forward Obinna Anochili-Killen shone with a career-high 30 points, showcasing his exceptional talent and contributing significantly to his team’s success. Similarly, Kevon Voyles delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 26 points and highlighting the teamwork and trust among the players.
