Saddleworth School Rugby Team Makes it to Regional Semifinals

Saddleworth has a rich history of producing top-notch rugby players, and the students at Saddleworth School seem to be no exception. The current Year 7 rugby league team has made quite a name for themselves by reaching the semifinals of a highly competitive regional competition.

In a recent match on their home turf, the team secured a spot in the last four of the North West Counties tournament by defeating Standish, a team from Wigan, with a final score of 22-10. The match saw an outstanding performance by Harold Thompson, who was named the player of the match after scoring three tries. Charlie Broadbent, playing as a centre, also made his mark by contributing two tries, while Mikey Lyons successfully converted one of the tries.
