Harvard Field Hockey Stars Shine Off the Field

Harvard University’s field hockey team has once again showcased the correlation between excellence on the field and in the classroom. A total of 19 student-athletes have been recognised for their academic achievements by being named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association’s Academic Squad for the 2023 season. To qualify for this prestigious accolade, these players have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher throughout the fall semester.

Among the honourees, Isa Gooijer particularly stands out, having earned this recognition in all four of her seasons with the Crimson. Hailing from Amstelveen, Netherlands, Gooijer’s consistent academic excellence stands as a testament to her dedication and hard work both on and off the field.

The recent achievements of the Harvard field hockey team on the field cannot be understated. The 2024 season saw the team secure the inaugural Ivy League Tournament title, concluding with an impressive 16-4 record. Furthermore, the Crimson progressed to the quarterfinals of the 2024 NCAA Championships, securing an exciting victory against Rutgers in the first round with a score of 2-1.
