Scott Adkins Tapped to Star as Cesare, Martial Arts Master in Final ‘Kickboxer’ Film

The Hollywood Reporter has officially confirmed that esteemed British action star Scott Adkins will be joining the cast of ‘Kickboxer: Armageddon,’ the final installment in the reboot trilogy of the beloved 1980s action franchise.

Adkins, widely revered within the action enthusiast community, has established a distinguished career in the realm of direct-to-video productions, boasting successful franchises such as ‘Undisputed’ and ‘Accident Man.’ Despite his accomplishments in B-category films, Adkins has recently garnered attention with notable roles in major blockbusters such as ‘The Bourne Ultimatum,’ Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange,’ and ‘John Wick 4,’ in which he portrayed the formidable German mob boss Killa.

In the forthcoming film, Adkins will embody the character of Cesare, a martial arts expert who oversees a ruthless cult led by descendants of the Burmese REG (The Royal Elite Guard). Cesare employs a teaching method that centres around endurance and pain as a means of learning.

‘Kickboxer: Armageddon’ signifies the culmination of a modern trilogy inspired by the original Kickboxer action series that commenced with the release of the Jean-Claude Van Damme classic in 1989.

The pivotal role of Kurt Sloane will once again be portrayed by Alain Moussi, who is on a mission to avenge his deceased brother and possesses a talent for vanquishing nefarious characters, as confirmed by the Hollywood Reporter.

Dimitri Logothetis, co-writer of the original reboot and director of the 2018 film ‘Kickboxer: Retaliation,’ is set to helm the third installment in the series. The trilogy’s utilization of contemporary visual effects and filmmaking techniques, combined with authentic martial arts and physical stunts, has garnered widespread acclaim.

Expressing his elation regarding Adkins’ involvement, Logothetis stated, “Scott is an exceptional actor and a martial arts legend, and I am thrilled to collaborate with him. I am confident that our Kickboxer fan base is eagerly anticipating the sight of Scott and Alain in Kickboxer: Armageddon. From his work in films such as ‘Undisputed’ and ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’ to his distinctive action style, Scott has impressed audiences worldwide.”

‘Kickboxer: Armageddon’ is scheduled to commence principal photography in Biloxi, Mississippi in April, as reported by the Hollywood Reporter. (ANI)
