The team’s first playoff win since 2019 represents a noteworthy achievement and has bolstered morale ahead of the upcoming regional semifinal against Bay Area Reps.
Similarly, the Onaway boys basketball team celebrated a significant triumph in their final home game of the regular season, with a commanding 80-29 victory over Rogers City. Standout seniors, such as Austin Veal and Mason Beebe, led the team to an impressive win, dominating the game from the outset. With this victory, the team eagerly anticipates their MHSAA Division 4 district semifinal at Rogers City.
Meanwhile, the Inland Lakes boys basketball team secured a hard-fought 54-47 victory over Gaylord St. Mary, showcasing resilience and determination on the court. Coached by Lee Nash, the Bulldogs demonstrated scoring balance and teamwork, underlining their readiness for the postseason.
The Cheboygan girls basketball team also enjoyed success, achieving a convincing 60-29 victory at Rudyard. The team’s well-balanced scoring display, led by players such as Bella Ecker and Cloee Rupp, highlighted their strength and adaptability in overcoming challenges and changes in their lineup.
Despite a 61-43 loss to Harbor Light, the Burt Lake Northern Michigan Christian Academy boys basketball team exhibited commendable effort and determination in their final regular season home game. Senior Josiah Brabson’s outstanding performance reflected the team’s resilience and drive to compete at a high level.
In Alanson, the boys basketball team rebounded from a previous loss, securing a 64-49 victory over Maplewood Baptist. The team’s performance, led by players such as Corbin Cousineau and Mason Weidenhamer, showcased their ability to overcome obstacles and adapt to challenging circumstances.
