The women’s tennis team of Ithaca College recently engaged in a challenging matchup against the University of Rochester, a showcase of their exemplary skills and unwavering determination. The team delivered a stellar performance, securing victories in four out of six singles matches and ultimately triumphing on the road.
Junior Taylor Crain exhibited her exceptional talent by triumphing over Josephine Libby in the No. 1 singles matchup, with a commendable score of 6-2, 6-3. Similarly, Alys Pop displayed her dominance by securing a convincing win over Sanjana Karnam with a score of 6-1 in the first set and 7-5 in the second.
The competition at No. 3 singles between Kendall Curley and Jasmin Toor was hotly contested, with Curley emerging victorious with a score of 6-3 in the first set and 7-6 (9-7) in the second. Additionally, first-year player Maddie Sutro sealed the victory for the Bombers at No. 6 singles by defeating Jaclyn Dron with a score of 6-2, 6-2.
In the doubles matches, the pairing of Sabrina Cheung and Kendall Curley secured a significant win for Ithaca at No. 2 by defeating the ‘Jackets pairing of Jaclyn Dron and Jasmin Toor with a score of 8-6.
