Impressive Triumph for ETSU Women’s Tennis Team

The ETSU women’s tennis team demonstrated exceptional skill in their recent match against Appalachian State, securing their third consecutive victory with a resounding 6-1 win.

The team exhibited strength in both the doubles and singles competitions, achieving victories in two out of three double matches and dominating in five out of six singles contests.

Particularly noteworthy is the outstanding performance of freshman Jana Rovira from Spain, who secured a decisive win from the No. 4 singles spot to seal the match. Additionally, junior Daniela Rivera from Venezuela and junior Ralista Alexandrova from Bulgaria, alongside senior Sofia Markova from Germany, have each contributed five singles wins this season, underscoring the team’s overall prowess.

– Savannah DadaMascoll (App State) defeated Sofia Markova (ETSU) 1-6, 6-1, 11-9
– Fernanda Carvajal (ETSU) defeated Taya Powell (App State) 6-7, 6-0, 10-7
– Daniela Rivera (ETSU) defeated Maggie Pate (App State) 6-2, 6-4
– Jana Rovira (ETSU) defeated Riley Collins (App State) 6-1, 6-1
– Alessandra Caceres (ETSU) defeated Brooke Gruber (App State) 6-0, 6-1
– Ralista Alexandrova (ETSU) defeated Peri Tippins (App State) 6-0, 6-0

In the doubles competition, ETSU’s Fernanda Carvajal and Daniela Rivera emerged victorious, defeating Appalachian State’s Taya Powell and Maggie Pate with a score of 6-3. The team also saw success with Jana Rovira and Ralista Alexandrova clinching another win against their opponents.
