France Adds Irish-Qualified Rugby Star to Squad for England Six Nations Finale

France head coach Fabien Galthie has made notable additions to the squad in preparation for the final round of the Six Nations tournament, which includes the uncapped Munster centre Antoine Frisch. Despite being eligible to play for Ireland due to his grandmother being born in Dublin, the 27-year-old may make his Test debut for France.

While Frisch has not represented senior Ireland, he showcased his talent in three games for Emerging Ireland during their tour to South Africa. The absence of his inclusion in the Ireland squad has now provided him with the opportunity to join the French squad for the upcoming matches.

Galthie stated that they have been monitoring Frisch closely and believe he has earned his place in the team due to his consistent and exceptional performances for Munster. Frisch will be vying for a position in the lineup against England along with other strong contenders in the French squad, such as Nicolas Depoortère, Gael Fickou, Yoram Moefana, and Emilien Gailleton.

In addition to Frisch, Galthie has also reinstated lock Cameron Woki, who was previously dropped from the squad, as well as Posolo Tuilagi following his recovery from illness. These additions provide further depth and potential to the French team as they prepare to face England in the Six Nations finale.

Frisch’s potential Test debut for France could potentially impact his future with Munster, as it may result in his departure from the team, considering he would then be classified as a non-Irish qualified player for the province. However, the decision ultimately hinges on the terms of his contract with Munster.

The announcement of the squad for the upcoming matches against England underscores the formidable lineup that France will field, including a strong contingent of forwards and a dynamic group of backs. With these additions, France is gearing up for an exciting and competitive conclusion to the Six Nations tournament.
