On Saturday, a significant congregation of families and supporters convened at the Pizzitola Sports Center to bear witness to the thrilling face-off between the women’s basketball team of Brown University and Yale University. The senior members of the Brown team bid a fitting farewell as they culminated their collegiate basketball careers with an impressive 76-57 victory.
Prior to the commencement of the game, the seniors, namely Kyla Jones ’24, Mya Murray ’24, Grace Kirk ’24, and Charlotte Jewell ’24, were warmly honoured by the attendees as they made their entrance onto the court. Joined by their parents and loved ones, they were presented with framed jerseys and photographs in recognition of their contributions.

Grace Kirk set the tone with a three-pointer, showcasing her prowess on the court after previously motivating her teammates from the sideline during her period of injury. Kyla Jones also delivered an outstanding performance, achieving a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds.
The initial quarter culminated with a flurry of three-pointers from the Brown team, establishing an 18-14 lead. Subsequently, the team’s offensive prowess came to the fore in the following quarter, as they continued to maintain their advantage.
