The Santa Clara Women’s Golf Team Concludes First Day of the Silicon Valley Showcase

The Santa Clara University women’s golf team concluded the first day of the Silicon Valley Showcase in fifth place, trailing the fourth-place team by just five strokes. Leading the charge for the Broncos was Audrey Brust, who carded a 5-over 147. Despite challenging wind and damp conditions, Pepperdine maintained a strong lead by posting a team 2-over 570.

During the first round, Brust delivered an impressive performance, finishing at par with four birdies, securing a tied-fifth position to kick off the SVS. Additionally, Patricia Garre-Munoz and Maddie Wu both started with a 3-over 74 in the initial round. Meanwhile, Lauren Shew, Wu, and Meva Schmit ended the day tied at 26th place with a 12-over 154. Pepperdine’s Jeneath Wong displayed remarkable consistency by shooting a 3-under 68 in both rounds, claiming the lead.
