The Santa Clara University women’s golf team concluded the first day of the Silicon Valley Showcase in fifth place, trailing the fourth-place team by just five strokes. Leading the charge for the Broncos was Audrey Brust, who carded a 5-over 147. Despite challenging wind and damp conditions, Pepperdine maintained a strong lead by posting a team 2-over 570.
During the first round, Brust delivered an impressive performance, finishing at par with four birdies, securing a tied-fifth position to kick off the SVS. Additionally, Patricia Garre-Munoz and Maddie Wu both started with a 3-over 74 in the initial round. Meanwhile, Lauren Shew, Wu, and Meva Schmit ended the day tied at 26th place with a 12-over 154.
