No. 6 Razorback Women’s Golf Competes in MountainView Collegiate

The sixth-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team found themselves in a tie for sixth place after the first round of the MountainView Collegiate at The Preserve Golf Club. Their 2-over 291 score was not the ideal start they had hoped for, as the back nine proved to be quite challenging. However, South Florida managed to lead the field with an impressive 6-under 282.

Three Razorbacks are currently tied for 15th place out of 81 total participants in the tournament. Ela Anacona finished even par after a rough start, marking her seventh round of par or better this season. Maria José Marin and Reagan Zibilski also delivered solid performances, with Zibilski even managing to secure 2-under through the front nine.

Arkansas’ Miriam Ayora and Giovanna Fernandez also made their mark, despite finishing with a 3-over 75. The team currently leads the field in par 3s average at 2.90, showcasing their resilience and stamina in this tightly contested competition.

The second round will commence on Saturday for the Hogs, with a 10:30 a.m. CT tee time scheduled off the first tee. The final round will follow on Sunday, March 17.
