Texas Longhorns Dominate UCF in Women’s Tennis, 4-0

The Women’s Tennis team at the University of Texas, ranked seventh, delivered an outstanding performance with a 4-0 victory over UCF at the USTA National Campus in Orlando. This achievement marked the team’s fourth consecutive victory in Big 12 play.

The Longhorns secured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2, laying the foundation for their singles triumphs. Freshman Shachf Lieberman secured a win at No. 6, followed by senior Charlotte Chavatipon at No. 3, and sophomore Vivian Ovrootsky at No. 5, ultimately clinching the overall victory.

In doubles, senior Malaika Rapolu and graduate Tanya Sasnouskaya took the lead with a 6-3 win over UCF’s Anique Kattenberg and Noel Saidenova at No. 1. Texas then secured the doubles point after Chavatipon and Ovrootsky defeated UCF’s Sophia Biolay and Jantje Tilbuerger with a 6-4 win at No. 2.

Moving on to singles matches, Lieberman and Chavatipon continued their winning streak with impressive performances. Lieberman secured a 6-1, 6-0 win over UCF’s Donatella Guanieri, while Chavatipon defeated UCF’s Sophia Biolay with a 6-4, 6-2 victory.

Ovrootsky then sealed the victory for Texas with a 6-1, 7-6 (2) win over Kattenberg at No. 5, showcasing the team’s strength and determination.

Despite some unfinished matches, the Longhorns displayed their dominance on the court, securing a well-deserved win and building momentum as they approach their upcoming conference battle against No. 1 Oklahoma State.
