The Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) has recently revealed the final rosters for the All-State teams for basketball and ice hockey, thus concluding the 2023 winter sports season.
In boys basketball, Maurice Austin from Pueblo South secured his second consecutive Player of the Year award in Class 5A. Austin, a standout point guard, earned first-team honours for his exceptional performance throughout the 2023 season, leading the entire state of Colorado in scoring with an impressive average of 31.2 points per game.
On the girls basketball front, Trynity Martin from Pueblo West and Rylee Stupnik from Pueblo County were both recognised with honorable mention accolades for their stellar contributions, instrumental in guiding their respective teams to the playoffs this season.
In ice hockey, Garrett O’Brien earned second-team all-state honours for his impressive 12 goals and three assists. Additionally, several players from Pueblo South were named to the honorable mention list, solidifying the team’s strong presence in the state’s ice hockey scene.
