Exciting Opportunity: Tennis Coach Needed for The Salts Tennis Courts

Seeking a Tennis Coach for The Salts Tennis Facility

The Town Council is currently seeking a qualified tennis coach to assist in the establishment of a vibrant and dynamic tennis facility at The Salts, with the aim of increasing accessibility to the sport within the local community. The primary objective is to create an inclusive environment that is affordable for families and accessible to all, in adherence to the standards outlined by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).

Unveiled in May 2022, The Salts tennis courts are equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, including automated floodlights and gate access. These features are complemented by ClubSpark, an acclaimed online sports management system designed to streamline the court booking process. Furthermore, the proximity to restroom facilities, free parking, and a café make it an ideal location for tennis enthusiasts.

This endeavour has been made feasible through funding from a variety of sources, including the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funds from Lewes District Council, the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), Sport England, and Seaford Town Council.

The Town Council is offering a one-year Tennis Operator Partnership, with the potential for extension for up to five years for the right candidate. The chosen partner will be tasked with operating the courts, conducting coaching programs, and providing opportunities for community tennis. Additionally, the partner will oversee the ClubSpark booking system and ensure the proper maintenance of the courts, while the Seaford Town Council will retain overall responsibility for the facilities.

In order to balance coaching and public usage, the Tennis Operating Partner will have access to a maximum of 30 court hours per week, utilizing a maximum of two courts at any given time. The partner will also retain all income generated from coaching sessions, memberships, and court bookings.

Key requirements for the role include LTA accreditation, an LTA Level 3 coaching qualification or higher, experience in community-focused tennis activities, and a valid DBS check in line with the Town Council’s Safeguarding Policy – Tennis.

Detailed tender pack and application requirements can be accessed on the Town Council’s website at https://www.seafordtowncouncil.gov.uk/contracts-and-tenders. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their tender applications via email to [email protected] or by post to the Seaford Town Clerk by 5pm on Wednesday, 27th March 2024.

This opportunity presents an exciting prospect for a passionate and committed tennis coach to make a positive impact on the local community while furthering the sport of tennis. If you meet the necessary qualifications and are enthusiastic about taking on this role, we encourage you to apply and contribute to shaping the future of tennis at The Salts.
