Gang Convicted of Murdering DPD Delivery Driver in Brutal Daylight Attack

The recent ruling in the case of the murder of DPD delivery driver Aurman Singh in Shrewsbury last August has found four individuals guilty of the heinous crime. The gang utilized a chilling variety of weaponry, including an axe, a golf club, a hockey stick, and a metal bar during the brutal and senseless attack.

The convicted individuals, namely Shivdeep Singh, Arshdeep Singh, Manjot Singh, and Jagdeep Singh, now face the possibility of a life sentence for their abhorrent actions. Additionally, Sukhmandeep Singh was acquitted of murder but found guilty of manslaughter.

Throughout the trial at Stafford Crown Court, it was revealed that there was no distinct motivation for the brutal murder. The gang also employed additional weapons, such as a wooden stave, shovel, knife, and cricket bat, to inflict fatal injuries on Aurman, leaving him in a pool of blood with ‘his brain exposed’.

The victim, a 23-year-old described as diligent and dedicated to his work, was part of a two-man crew making deliveries in Shrewsbury when he was ambushed and viciously assaulted by the gang. This distressing incident, which transpired in a matter of seconds, shocked and terrified the local community.

Eyewitness accounts depicted how, as the armed men approached Aurman, frightened parents hurriedly brought their children inside their homes, while Aurman’s distressed colleague urged him to flee. Despite his attempts to escape, Aurman collapsed after running only a few yards, succumbing to the ruthless assault.

Following the savage attack, the perpetrators fled in their vehicles, taking some of their blood-stained weapons with them. The weapons were subsequently discovered by the police after the four convicted individuals attempted to dispose of them in a nearby bin. The trial additionally brought to light that four other individuals are still sought in connection with the case.
