Florida Gulf Coast University Men’s Tennis Honors Seniors in Final Home Match

The men’s tennis team at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCS) recently honoured their seniors during the final home match against Kennesaw State University. In a moving ceremony, seniors Eric Oncins and John Zakowski, accompanied by their families, were recognised on court one, adding a special touch to the event.

The match concluded with a 6-1 victory for the Kennesaw State University Owls. Despite the outcome, the event was marked by a strong display of sportsmanship and camaraderie.

The doubles competition was intense, with Oncins and Hugo Magnusson securing a win on court one with a score of 6-3. Ultimately, the match on court two culminated in a thrilling victory for Harry Michalowski and Pablo Paternostro, with a score of 7-6(4), securing the doubles point for FGCU at 7-6(4).

Although the Eagles put on an impressive performance during the doubles matches, the singles matches did not play out in their favor. The results were as follows:

5. Hugo Salmeron (KSUM) won against John Zakowski (FGCU) with scores of 6-2, 6-2
6. Seru Tezuka (KSUM) secured a victory against Ninad Raut (FGCU) with scores of 6-3, 6-4

The doubles matches were marked by fierce competition, resulting in the following outcomes:
