The WMU Golf Team Takes on the EKU Colonel Classic

The Western Michigan University golf team is preparing for an upcoming weekend as they make their way to Richmond, Kentucky, to participate in the annual Colonel Classic at The University Club at Arlington golf course. The tournament, hosted by Eastern Kentucky, is scheduled to commence on Monday, with live scoring available at www.golfstat.com.

In this eagerly anticipated event, the Broncos will compete against several formidable opponents, including the host team, the Colonels, as well as Ball State, Bellarmine, Belmont, Bradley, Butler, Cleveland State, Dayton, Eastern Michigan, Georgia State, Illinois State, Morehead State, and Northern Illinois. The golf course presents a challenging par 72 layout, extending to 6,108 yards, providing an exciting test for all participating teams.

It is worth noting that this is the second consecutive tournament in Kentucky for WMU, following their seventh-place finish at the Nevel Meade Collegiate, hosted by Cleveland State in Prospect, Ky. The Broncos will have a quick turnaround, as they will travel to Bowling Green for the annual Dolores Black Falcon Invitational at Stone Ridge Golf Club. This tournament serves as the final regular-season event before the much-anticipated 2024 Mid-American Conference Championship at Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City, Ohio, hosted by Ohio.
