Indiana University Northwest has cause for celebration as one of its own, Jessica Carrothers, a standout guard for the women’s basketball team, has been named to the second team of the NAIA’s All-American team for the 2024 season. Hailing from Highland, Indiana, Carrothers also secured the 2024 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year award and received honorable mention in the WBCA All-America honors.
In her inaugural season with the RedHawks, Carrothers dominated the CCAC with an impressive 27.7 points per game, elevating her to the position of the nation’s second leading scorer. Her exceptional performance was further underscored by her 6.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and three steals per game. The gifted athlete also exhibited her efficiency on the court, achieving a shooting percentage of 54.1% from the field, 43.2% from beyond the arc, and an impressive 87.5% from the free-throw line. Carrothers’ stellar performance rightfully earned her the title of CCAC Newcomer of the Year.
