The men’s tennis team at Binghamton University is concluding its regular season in a strong manner, having secured two wins and the top seed in the NEC championships. Ronin Lotlikar and Andre Ajed have performed exceptionally, leading to their weekly honors from the NEC.
Lotlikar’s outstanding 4-0 record in the recent matches against Duquesne and St. Francis resulted in his selection as co-Player of the Week. Competing at No. 1 doubles and No. 3 singles, he contributed crucial wins to the team’s 4-3 victories in both matches. Lotlikar’s singles record now stands at 23-12, and he has recorded his 18th and 19th doubles wins.
Conversely, Ajed’s impressive performance on the court earned him the title of Rookie of the Week. Filling in for his unwell teammates, Ajed played a pivotal role in the team’s 4-3 road win at Duquesne by securing the clinching point. His remarkable comeback from a 5-2 first-set deficit to win 7-6 (5), 6-4 showcased his determination and skill, marking his first collegiate dual match triumph.
The Bearcats will be taking their winning momentum to West Windsor, N.J. for the NEC Championships this weekend, where they will be aiming to continue their strong performance on the court.
