The Iloilo Tinagan School of Martial Arts Inc. has attained notable success at the 11th RNKA Karatedo Championships held on April 6, 2024, at the City Mall in Mandalagan, Bacolod City. The proficient Ilonggo Karatedo athletes exhibited their skills and expertise, securing a total of 18 medals – seven gold, six silver, and five bronze. This exceptional performance comes as no surprise, given the dedication and training they have received under the guidance of Mr. Gerald Tinagan, a well-respected and experienced mentor at ITSMAI.
The gold medalists from ITSMAI demonstrated their excellence in their respective categories. Summer Dawn Tinagan emerged victorious in the 6-7 years old kumite (girls) category, while Ameila Victoria triumphed in the 16-17 years old -48kg (girls) category, contributing to ITSMAI’s second gold medal. The other gold medalists from ITSMAI include Thirdy BaƱes, Adrian Gabriel Solas, Pio Joemarie Judilla, Bryan Bert Bancolo Jr., and Archail Monton, all of whom displayed exceptional skill and determination.
In terms of the silver medals, they were achieved by Sean Daniel Acelo, Dionamae Belleza, Jacob Kristof Argenal, Lucian Cauis Austria, Bancolo Jr., and Solas. The bronze medals were claimed by Rogem Pelaez, Tinagan, Argenal, Monton, and Bancolo Jr., all of whom demonstrated great sportsmanship and perseverance.
This recent triumph adds to ITSMAI’s previous success at the 5th Karate Pilipinas National Championships, where they secured six gold medals, one silver, and three bronze medals. During an exclusive interview with the Daily Guardian, Mr. Tinagan expressed his gratitude to Karate Pilipinas Sports Federation Inc. President Shihan Richard Lim for the opportunity given to the Tinagan Karatedo Athletes (TKA) and also to the supportive TKA Parents, demonstrating appreciation for the support and recognition extended to their athletes.
