Ohio State Buckeyes Women’s Basketball: Eboni Walker Set to Return for 2024-25 Season

The Ohio State University’s women’s basketball team has received an exciting announcement from graduate forward Eboni Walker, who took to Instagram to declare her decision to return for the 2024-25 season, utilizing her remaining year of eligibility.

During the previous season, Walker exhibited a solid performance, averaging 2.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists across 23 games. One of her standout games was against Wisconsin, where she achieved a season-high of 11 points and seven rebounds, ultimately contributing to Ohio State’s impressive victory with a final score of 87-49.

In her Instagram post, Walker expressed her profound gratitude, specifically acknowledging the steadfast support she received from the Buckeyes’ fanbase and the individuals who have been pillars of strength throughout her journey. She attributed her decision to continue striving for excellence to the trust and warmth she received from everyone at Ohio State.

With a desire to further her education at Ohio State, Walker concluded by stating, “Having said all of this, I have made the decision to use my final year of eligibility to further my education at THE Ohio State University.”

During her first season at Ohio State in 2022-23, Walker started 11 out of 34 games, maintaining an average of 4.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. She notably played a significant role in the Buckeyes’ victory against North Carolina in the 2023 NCAA tournament, scoring a career-high 15 points.

Prior to joining Ohio State, Walker played for Syracuse, participating in six games during the 2021-22 season with an average of 4.2 points and 3.2 rebounds. Her collegiate career began at Arizona State, where she showcased her skills by averaging nearly 7 points and five rebounds over the course of two seasons from 2019-2021.

In the upcoming 2024-25 season, Walker will be joining a formidable frontcourt, alongside two returning starters Taylor Thierry and Cotie McMahon, as well as incoming Kentucky transfer Ajae Petty.
