University of Hawai’i Men’s Tennis Team Finishes Regular Season with Three Big West Road Matches

The men’s tennis team at the University of Hawai’i is preparing for three significant Big West road matches to conclude its regular season. The Rainbow Warriors are scheduled to compete against UC San Diego, UC Irvine, and UC Riverside this week, with the goal of finishing the season on a strong note.

To begin, the Rainbow Warriors will face UC San Diego at the Northview Tennis Courts on Wednesday, April 17, followed by a match against UC Irvine at the UC Irvine Tennis Stadium on Saturday, April 20. The team will then conclude its regular season with a battle against UC Riverside at the SRC Tennis Courts on Sunday, April 21.

As the regular season comes to a close, Hawai’i is striving to secure its first conference win of the season. With an overall record of 5-12, the team is aiming to end the season with a positive result. The Rainbow Warriors previously competed against UC Riverside in a non-conference match during the UNLV Quad tourney in Las Vegas in January, earning a victory. Now, they are ready to face their Big West opponents in these upcoming matches.

Under the leadership of Quinn Snyder, a two-time Big West Player of the Week awardee, the Rainbow Warriors have demonstrated their prowess on the court. Snyder has an impressive 7-4 overall record on the No. 1 singles court and has emerged victorious in seven of his last nine decisions. His outstanding performance includes a win against 46th-ranked Pablo Masjoan of UC Santa Barbara during UH’s last homestand.

Moreover, Guillaume Tattevin and Karl Collins have also exhibited their skills, each securing six singles wins during the season. Tattevin, one of UH’s two seniors, holds a 6-4 record and has excelled with a 5-2 playing at No. 3, while Collins boasts a 6-5 overall record and has particularly shone with a 6-2 playing at No. 4.

The team is preparing for an exciting conclusion to their regular season and is eager to deliver strong performances in these upcoming matches. With the talent and determination of players like Snyder, Tattevin, and Collins, the Rainbow Warriors are aiming to end the regular season positively before shifting their focus to the postseason.
