Exciting News for Bo’ness Rugby Club with the Opening of a New Pharmacy in Richmond Terrace

The recent inauguration of a new pharmacy in the Bo’ness area has provided a much-needed boost to the Bo’ness Rugby Club and the local community as a whole. Formerly known as Rowlands Pharmacy Bo’ness Health Centre, this establishment is positioned to become an essential pillar of healthcare provision in the area.

The ceremonial unveiling of the pharmacy was commemorated with a special event, designed to mark its official opening and to reaffirm its dedication to meeting the healthcare needs of the local populace. The significant act of cutting the ceremonial blue ribbon was entrusted to the esteemed Bo’ness Rugby Club secretary, Lyndsay Porteous, symbolizing the dawn of a new chapter. Additionally, in a tangible display of support for the rugby club, the pharmacy generously contributed £250, earmarked for the provision of training and equipment for children between the ages of five and 17.

Expressing her fervent appreciation for the occasion, Lyndsay Porteous articulated, “I had a wonderful experience inaugurating the new pharmacy. It was an honour to officiate the welcoming of customers. Community pharmacies play a vital role in facilitating access to healthcare, and I take pride in championing Numark Pharmacy’s provision of this crucial facility.”

At the helm of this newly established pharmacy is manager Heather Berrington, flanked by a dedicated team of local colleagues. During the event, Heather Berrington expressed, “The morning at Rowlands Pharmacy Bo’ness Health Centre was truly delightful. We were delighted to open our doors to the community and reinforce our commitment to them. As community pharmacists, we view ourselves as an indispensable component of local healthcare provision, and I eagerly anticipate engaging with more members of the community in the weeks to come.”

As part of NHS Pharmacy First Scotland, this pharmacy will offer expert guidance for various conditions including sore throats, earache, cold sores, and urinary tract infections, in addition to providing prescription dispensing, vaccination services, over-the-counter medications, emergency contraception, and medication review. The primary objective of this service is to facilitate individuals’ access to appropriate care without necessitating visits to their GP practice or local Accident and Emergency Department for non-urgent treatment.

Residents can avail themselves of the pharmacy’s services on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9am to 6pm, Wednesdays from 9am to 5pm, and Saturdays from 9am to 1pm at its location in Richmond Terrace.

The opening of this new pharmacy indeed represents a significant milestone for the local community, holding the promise of considerable contributions to the healthcare requirements of Bo’ness and its environs. Its collaboration with Bo’ness Rugby Club further underscores the pharmacy’s steadfast dedication to supporting the community, an accomplishment deserving of commendation.
