The University of Denver women’s tennis team has achieved its 10th consecutive Summit League Title by defeating South Dakota with a 4-0 victory over the weekend. This victory also secures the team an automatic spot in the NCAA National Tennis Championships, marking their 13th appearance overall.
During the doubles matches, the team earned the first point of the day with wins in the doubles matches, led by graduate student Britt Pursell and junior Andrea Burguete Beltran. Additionally, the sophomore pair of Caroline Driscoll and Louise Wikander secured the point at No. 2 doubles after a close contest.
In the singles matches, the University of Denver took swift leads in all six games, with Burguete Beltran, Driscoll, and Otis spearheading the charge to ultimately secure the championship. In addition, Pursell and Wikander exhibited strong performances, contributing to the team’s victory.
The University of Denver women’s tennis team will now focus on the 2024 NCAA Women’s Tennis Championship, with the NCAA Selection Show scheduled for Monday, April 29.
