Utah State basketball has recently made a significant acquisition by securing the services of 6’11 former Stetson player Aubin Gateretse in order to bolster their lineup. Gateretse formally committed to Utah State on Friday, April 19. Hailing from Charleroi, Belgium, Gateretse is well-regarded for his effective presence in the post, making him an excellent addition to the Aggies.
During his junior year, Gateretse demonstrated his prowess on the court by averaging an impressive 11.6 points per game on 71.2 percent shooting in 29 games. His exceptional performance was highlighted by a season-high 26 points against Milwaukee on November 20, 2023, and achieving over 20 points in four games throughout the season.
Gateretse not only brings his exceptional skills to the team but also a wealth of experience from his time at Stetson. As a senior majoring in Communication & Media Studies, Gateretse accrued 33 starts and played over 24 minutes per game in his third season with the Stetson Hatters, earning a well-deserved spot on the ASUN Conference All-Tournament Team.
