The newly established NHL team in Utah has been received with great warmth and enthusiasm by approximately 12,400 ardent fans, signifying the commencement of their journey in Salt Lake City.
Initially uncertain about their future following the conclusion of the season for the Arizona Coyotes, the players were buoyed by the NHL Board of Governors’ decision the following day to establish a new team in Utah.
During their time in Salt Lake City, the players were granted an extensive tour of the arena and were introduced to numerous youth hockey players, whose welcome served as a source of inspiration. The warmth and support extended to the players proved to be a truly remarkable experience.
The visit commenced with the players’ arrival at the airport, where they were greeted by a contingent of young hockey players and fans. This heartening scene left an indelible impression on both the players and the team’s general manager, Bill Armstrong.
Subsequently, the players embarked on a tour of the Delta Center, their future home arena, affording them a glimpse of the state-of-the-art facilities and amenities at their disposal. They were also introduced to the President of the Jazz, Jim Olson, and were granted exclusive access to the arena.
Following this, the players visited the Zions Bank Basketball Campus, where they gained insight into the city’s fervent support for its sports teams, providing them with an appreciation of the level of support and care awaiting them in their new home.
