Wills established the tempo of the match by showcasing her extraordinary speed and skill, scoring the opening try with a breathtaking sprint from 40 metres out. Her exceptional performance continued as she scored another try just 10 minutes later, solidifying the Bears’ lead. With Gabriella Nigrelli’s successful conversion, the Bears quickly found themselves ahead with a score of 12-0.
However, Saracens fought back fiercely and managed to narrow the gap just before halftime, gaining momentum leading into the second half. They continued to build on this momentum, ultimately taking the lead with tries from Lotte Clapp and Bryony Field, bringing the score to 17-12 in Saracens’ favor.
Undeterred, the Bears demonstrated their resilience and determination, leveling the score at 17-17 with a spectacular try from Ella Lovibond. Fly-half Lucie Skuse’s precise pass set up the opportunity for Lovibond’s try, with Wills making a crucial line break earlier in the play to advance the Bears into Saracens’ 22.
