A highly anticipated auction is scheduled to occur on Friday, showcasing a bespoke timepiece created by Jacob & Co. in commemoration of the upcoming heavyweight boxing clash between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia. The stunning “Ring of Fire” watch, measuring 50-mm in rose gold, will be the centrepiece of the event, with all proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish International charity.
Crafted as part of the Astronomia Art collection, the design of the watch pays tribute to both fighters, with figurines of each world heavyweight champion adorning the watch. The iconic champion belt of the World Boxing Council is also represented on the watch, with its green colour used on the strap.
The auction will be hosted by Sotheby’s, featuring other boxing-themed items alongside the highly coveted Ring of Fire watch. The auction will take place on the evening before the fight night, adding an element of excitement and anticipation to the event.
The heavyweight clash between Fury and Usyk, also known as the “Ring of Fire,” is set to take place in Riyadh on May 18 at the Kingdom Arena, adding to the significance and prestige of the timepiece auction.
Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the board of directors at the General Entertainment Authority, expressed his pride in commissioning Big Time Creative Shop to work alongside luxury watch brand Jacob & Co. to design and craft the exquisite timepiece. He also emphasized the charitable nature of the event, stating that all auction proceeds will go towards Make-A-Wish International, benefitting children around the world.
Both Fury and Usyk shared their thoughts on the upcoming auction, with Fury highlighting the historical significance of the watch and its connection to the unforgettable night of boxing, and Usyk encouraging others to participate in the auction to raise funds for a worthy cause.
