Fifteen teams of golfers from Ayrshire convened at the esteemed Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club to partake in the 26th Hansel Charity Golf Day on Thursday, May 2. Despite the adverse weather conditions, the golfers exhibited their skill and enjoyed a superb round of golf.
Subsequent to the tournament, a fundraising auction and prize draw were conducted during the post-tournament dinner, expertly presided over by Robert Dykes. The triumphant team from Lowmac claimed the esteemed Friends of Hansel Quaich in first place, while Smart Working Services and AtkinsRealis secured second and third place, respectively.
Individual accomplishments were also acknowledged, with Robert Gray from Lowmac clinching the Best Individual title, Mark McHenry claiming the Longest Drive, and Brian Raftery and Derek Walker showcasing their expertise in the nearest the pin competitions.
The event witnessed the presence of eminent personalities from Hansel, including Colin Philp and Sheena Hope, gents’ and ladies’ captains at Kilmarnock (Barassie), as well as Neil Gallagher, Hansel’s finance and operational support director. The occasion was impeccably hosted and auctioneered by Robert Dykes from Kilmarnock FC.
Agnes Paton, Hansel’s fundraising and communications manager, conveyed her gratitude to the sponsors, hole sponsors, prize donors, and all the participating golfers for their tremendous support. The event successfully raised an impressive £5,577.91, which will contribute to the replacement of an industrial washing machine at Hansel Laundry.
