The Eastern Kentucky University Athletics department has recently announced the selection of four talented men’s tennis players to the prestigious College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Men’s Tennis Team.
The esteemed quartet comprises Fernando Bulnes, Evzen Holis, J. Anurag Reddy, and Kristoffer Stahlbrand. These exceptional athletes have not only made an impact on the court but have also excelled in their academic pursuits, earning this well-deserved recognition.
Leading the group is Evzen Holis, who has maintained an impressive 4.0 GPA while pursuing a master’s degree in business administration. Hailing from Brno, Czech Republic, Holis has demonstrated exceptional talent with a 16-10 singles record and an 11-10 doubles mark, mainly from the top court. In addition to sporting excellence, he has achieved academic success, being selected to the First Team All-ASUN and ASUN All-Academic Team.
Fernando Bulnes, majoring in computer science, has earned a well-deserved 3.72 GPA. With a 15-6 singles record and a 10-8 doubles mark, primarily from the No. 1 position, Bulnes has showcased his skills both on and off the court, with notable wins over top-ranked opponents.
Kristoffer Stahlbrand, a finance major with a 3.68 GPA, has also made a lasting impression with his exceptional performance, tying for a team-high 14 doubles wins from the bottom two courts, while also excelling in his academic pursuits.
Finally, J. Anurag Reddy, majoring in accounting, has proven himself as an asset to the team with an 11-7 singles record and a commendable 9-7 doubles mark, demonstrating dedication to both his studies and his sport.
These student-athletes have demonstrated a fine balance between their academic and athletic responsibilities, exemplifying the true essence of student-athlete excellence. Their commitment to both their studies and their sport is truly commendable and serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes.
