Martial Arts Centre Owner in Portsmouth Faces Charges of Sexual Assault

The allegations against Harry Charache, the founder and owner of On-Site Family Martial Arts in Portsmouth, have raised serious concerns. We have learned from a thorough investigation conducted by the Portsmouth Police Department that Mr. Charache is facing multiple charges, including three counts of sexual assault, four counts of simple assault, and two counts of illegally performing chiropractic medicine. These charges are classified as misdemeanors.

The investigation was initiated following a report from an adult individual who alleged being a victim of sexual assault at the martial arts facility. The Portsmouth police have identified Mr. Charache as the alleged perpetrator at the Robert Avenue business.

Detective Sgt. Kevin McCarthy has indicated that part of the allegations involves Mr. Charache presenting his actions as a form of medical intervention, particularly in relation to the charges of engaging in the unlawful practice of chiropractic medicine.

According to his biography on his business’ website, Mr. Charache brings 40 years of teaching experience in martial arts, beginning his training in New York in 1979. He has been imparting his expertise to students in the Seacoast area since 1989.

Mr. Charache, aged 67 and a resident of Stratham, surrendered himself to the Portsmouth police on Wednesday and posted a $1,000 cash bail. His arraignment is scheduled for July 8 at the city district court. Efforts to contact Mr. Charache on Thursday were unsuccessful, and it is presently unknown if he has retained legal counsel.
