The transfer portal for women’s basketball opened on March 18, initiating a busy period for the Arkansas women’s basketball team. A number of incoming and outgoing transfers have shaped the team’s roster. We will continue to provide updates as additional information becomes available.
Incoming Transfers:
Izzy Higginbottom, a guard from Batesville, began her collegiate career at Missouri before moving to Arkansas State for the last two seasons. Notably, in the 2023-24 season, she ranked eighth in Division I for scoring, averaging 22.2 points per game.
Vera Ojenuwa, a 6-4 forward hailing from Lagos, Nigeria, and previously playing at Barton (Kan.) Community College, has joined the Razorbacks after an impressive freshman season where she averaged 13.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.
Kiki Smith, a 5-7 guard from Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College, secured the title of Junior College National Player of the Year and the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Player of the Year. Her addition brings valuable experience and skill to the Razorbacks.
Outgoing Transfers:
Maryam Dauda, a 6-4 forward from Bentonville, has transferred to South Carolina after a notable redshirt-sophomore season, averaging 10.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
Samara Spencer, the SEC freshman of the year in 2022, has chosen to transfer to Tennessee after three successful seasons with the Razorbacks, claiming the 16th spot on Arkansas’ career scoring leaderboard.
Saylor Poffenbarger, a key contributor in defensive rebounds for the Razorbacks, has transferred to Maryland following her impactful time with the team.
Taliah Scott, a standout freshman leading the Razorbacks with 22.1 points per game, has entered the transfer portal, expected to garner significant interest from other teams.
Jersey Wolfenbarger, a former 5-star prospect, has entered the transfer portal and will continue her collegiate career at LSU.
The Arkansas women’s basketball team has undergone substantial changes due to these transfers.
