Player Cole Palmer Reflects on an Outstanding Season

In a remarkable turn of events, Cole Palmer has had a breakthrough season at Stamford Bridge, following his transfer from Manchester City. The 22-year-old forward has made a significant impact, scoring 25 goals and providing 15 assists, earning the admiration of fans and numerous accolades along the way.

In an interview, Palmer expressed his satisfaction with the season, acknowledging the need for further growth and consistency. He stated, “Personally, it’s been a very good season for me, but overall for the team it has been a little bit inconsistent. We are learning and growing, and I think we will get to the level we need to be soon. I’ve enjoyed it. I think if we can get the consistency we’ll be really good next season.”

When reflecting on his standout moments, Palmer highlighted his first goal against Everton, which was nominated for the Premier League’s Goal of the Season, and his last-minute winner against Manchester United. He said, “My favourite goal in terms of skill is probably my first Everton goal. There was loads of space and then I saw Jarrad Branthwaite come at me fast so I nutmegged him, did a little flick, set it to Nico [Jackson] and then first timed it. That was a good goal that one.”

He continued, “For the emotion and excitement, I would definitely say the Manchester United winner. It all started when Carney [Chukwuemeka] nearly scored and it went out for a corner. I then got the ball and no one was around me so I thought I would shoot on target because there were loads of people in the box, and then it went in. I felt the stadium just erupt. That was probably my favourite goal.”

Palmer’s impressive performances rightfully earned him the Premier League’s Young Player of the Season award, a recognition that he deeply appreciated. “It was an amazing feeling to win such a prestigious award. Many great young players have won it, so to win it myself was such a really good feeling.”

Looking ahead, Palmer expressed excitement about being included in England’s provisional squad for the European Championships in June. He believes that the national team has a good chance of winning the tournament due to the exceptional talent within the squad.

With a humble and grounded attitude, Palmer is grateful for the support of his family and friends throughout his journey. His words reflect his gratitude, saying, “I rang my mum and dad straight away. They were buzzing. Obviously, from last season it was a big decision to come here, not just for me, but for my family as well and thankfully it has paid off.”

As the season draws to a close, Palmer remains hopeful for what the future holds. He said, “I didn’t expect this season to have gone as well as it has, but I’m just really thankful that it has. Let’s hope it can continue.” With his talent and determination, Cole Palmer is undoubtedly a player to watch in the upcoming seasons.
