The Demolition of ‘The Den’ Building at Trump Turnberry Golf Resort

Proposals have been set forth to demolish a structure located at the esteemed golf resort in Ayrshire, which is under the ownership of former President of the United States, Donald Trump. The facility, known as ‘The Den,’ situated on Little Turnberry Farm, has been determined to be a “liability” by the proprietors and is scheduled for demolition as it has “exceeded its useful lifespan.” A prior notification application has been formally lodged in anticipation of the impending demolition.

A representative from Mhairi Shaw Planning, acting on behalf of Trump Turnberry, declared that the building is of substandard construction and is no longer conducive to contemporary living. Although it was formerly utilized for residential purposes, it has remained unoccupied for an extended period and has consequently deteriorated. The farm, which is the property of Trump Turnberry Hotel, is predominantly utilized for outdoor activities, and the structure in question is deemed to be detrimental to the overall ambience.

The upkeep of the building has become unsustainable, and its current state of construction and condition renders it unproductive. The submission of the prior notification application is intended to ascertain whether the demolition may be carried out under permitted development.

A determination regarding the application is anticipated within the upcoming month.

In recent developments, the former President was found to be culpable of 34 counts of falsifying business records in connection with hush-money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels. Subsequently, he has announced his intention to contest the conviction.
