Northampton Saints have successfully secured their first Premiership title in a decade, emerging victorious with a 25-21 win over Bath and claiming the Gallagher Premiership trophy at Twickenham. In recognition of this momentous accomplishment, the team is set to host a lively victory parade in Northampton on Sunday, providing an opportunity for enthusiasts to partake in the revelry.
The parade will commence from cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens at 2pm, with the entire squad and coaching staff proceeding to the Guildhall in St Giles Square by approximately 2.30pm. The procession will traverse through Weedon Road, St James Road, Mare Fair, Gold Street, Mercers Row, and Wood Hill, offering supporters the chance to line the streets and commemorate the team’s triumph.
Upon reaching the Guildhall, the Saints will receive a warm welcome from three esteemed figures from West Northamptonshire Council: Cllr Adam Brown, Cllr Jo Gilford, and Cllr Paul Joyce. A stage will be erected outside the Guildhall for player interviews, musical performances, and various other entertaining activities, all under the supervision of the stadium announcer, Pete Nuttall.
Fans will also have the opportunity to engage with their beloved players, catch a glimpse of the Premiership trophy, and capture lasting memories through photographs before the team departs at around 3.30pm. The event is open to all at no charge, although individuals carrying bags may be subject to security checks upon entry. It is pertinent to note that there will be no access to cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens on Sunday.
The Club expresses gratitude for the support of West Northamptonshire Council in orchestrating this celebratory affair and urges all attendees to embody the values of the Saints by displaying respect for the surroundings and fellow supporters.
This parade serves as a testimony to the remarkable achievement of the Saints and pledges to be a memorable and jubilant occasion for fans and players alike. Let us unite in adorning the town with Black, Green, and Gold in tribute to the Premiership champions!
