The Stourbridge Girls U16s Football team recently had the honour of celebrating their triumph in the Central Warwickshire League Cup with a special visit to the Mayor’s Parlour in Dudley. The girls, representing Stourbridge Football Club, were extended an invitation to meet the Mayor in recognition of their outstanding achievement in the cup final.
The path to their victory was undoubtedly challenging, as they faced the Inkberrow Eagles in the Cup Final at Evesham FC. The intense match concluded in a 3-3 draw, leading to an exciting penalty shootout, which the Stourbridge girls ultimately won 4-2. According to their manager, Ryan Magson, this significant win marked the conclusion of the girls’ junior football season, concluding their time in the junior league on an extraordinarily high note.
Magson praised the girls for their unwavering dedication and hard work throughout the season, highlighting their positive attitude and impressive performance on the field.
