Alex Hunt makes a permanent move to York City

York City Football Club is delighted to announce the permanent acquisition of midfielder Alex Hunt from Grimsby Town. The financial details of the transfer remain undisclosed, but we are eagerly anticipating Hunt’s official inclusion in the Minstermen squad.

Following a recent two-month loan stint from Grimsby Town, the 24-year-old is no stranger to our club. He made his debut for City in February against Barnet and subsequently featured in the last eight matches under the management of Adam Hinshelwood. A standout moment during his loan period was the exceptional left-footed assist to Dipo Akinyemi, resulting in a goal in the one-all draw against FC Halifax Town in April.

During his tenure at Blundell Park, Hunt amassed 62 appearances for the Mariners across the National League and League Two. His extensive experience and talent will undoubtedly prove to be valuable assets to York City, and we eagerly await his contributions on the pitch.

We extend our warmest welcome back to Alex Hunt as he officially becomes a member of the Minstermen. We are thrilled to have him on board and have full confidence in his ability to make a significant impact on the team.

As with any transfer, the completion of this move is contingent upon league and FA approval. We are eagerly anticipating the final clearance for Hunt to formally join the York City squad.

We eagerly anticipate witnessing Alex Hunt in action, and we are confident that his skills and determination will further fortify our team. Here’s to a successful season ahead with Alex on our side!
