New Head Coaches at York High and Eastern York for Boys’ Basketball

Significant changes have recently taken place in the boys’ basketball head coaching positions at York High and Eastern York. Justin Seitz is set to make a return at Eastern York, while Seth Leonard is poised to assume the coaching responsibilities at York High. Both individuals have the distinction of being former students at the schools they will now be overseeing.

Seitz’s return to Eastern York comes just a year after he stepped down from the position he had held for five years. During his absence, Troy Sowers led the Golden Knights to victory in the District 3 Class 4A tournament. Sowers, who had previously enjoyed success coaching the York High boys and the Spring Grove girls, made the decision to resign from Eastern York in April. He stated that he was retiring from teaching at York High, but not from coaching, expressing his hope to return to coaching in the future under the right circumstances.

On the other hand, Leonard is ready to make his mark at York High following a successful coaching stint at Susquehannock. His appointment comes after the departure of Clovis Gallon, who had been at the helm of the Bearcats since Sowers’ resignation in 2016.

Both Seitz and Leonard are expected to bring their wealth of expertise and experience to their respective programs. Their return to their alma maters is driven by their desire to inspire and guide the next generation of basketball players.

The upcoming season holds promise for the teams under the guidance of these esteemed coaches. Given their history as former students and experienced coaches, Seitz and Leonard are poised to lead their teams to even greater successes in the future.

With the familiar names taking on coaching roles at York High and Eastern York, the basketball community eagerly awaits the positive impact they will bring to the programs. Their return is a testament to their dedication and passion for the sport, and both schools are expected to benefit from their invaluable experience.

It will certainly be exhilarating to witness the transformation and growth of the boys’ basketball programs under the leadership of these esteemed coaches.
