The Salt City Pro-Am Tournament, formerly known as the Elite Basketball Club, is undergoing more than just a change in name. It signifies a rejuvenation of community spirit and basketball talent in Central New York. The event, owned by Mike Sugamosto, seeks to bring together basketball enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds, thereby uniting the diverse athletic community of Syracuse under one roof.
Sugamosto, a firm believer in the abundant talent present in the city, emphasizes the significance of creating a safe environment where people can come together to play and watch basketball. The tournament has not only drawn enthusiastic basketball fans, but also local sports personalities such as Syracuse University running back LeQuint Allen, who took a break from football to soak in the local atmosphere. “I don’t usually have the opportunity to watch basketball,” Allen remarked. “So, I enjoy seeing standout players. I simply relish the game whenever I have the chance to witness it.”
For Sugamosto, the tournament is about more than just sports – it is about fostering unity in the community through a common passion. “It is more than just basketball, more than just running a business,” Sugamosto stated. “It is about bringing together individuals who all share the same love and passion for the game.”
Sugamosto extends an invitation to all basketball enthusiasts who have not yet experienced the Salt City Pro-Am Tournament. “Do not miss out on the chance to witness these players up close and personal. Come and join us to be a part of something truly special,” he entreated.
The tournament will run until August 2nd at the St. Joseph’s Church.
