The University of Wyoming Men’s Basketball Team Finalizes Roster for 2024-25 Season

The newly appointed head coach, Sundance Wicks, has recently announced the finalization of the Cowboys’ roster for the upcoming 2024-25 season. This announcement follows the addition of transfer guards Dontaie Allen and A.J. Willis to the team.

In his statement, Wicks expressed his contentment with the completed roster, emphasizing the significance of recruiting players who embody the high character, competitive spirit, and commitment that align with the team’s Cowboy Culture.

Dontaie Allen, a 6-foot-6, 210-pound senior, joins the Cowboys after playing for Western Kentucky and previously for Kentucky. His impressive performance includes an average of 8.2 points and 3.0 rebounds per game, with a 40.0% three-point shooting percentage during his time with the Hilltoppers. Wicks confidently remarked that Allen’s experience and exceptional shooting ability will greatly benefit the team.

On the other hand, A.J. Willis, a 6-2, 160-pound sophomore, brings his skill set from Holy Cross where he averaged 5.5 points per game. Wicks highlighted Willis’ ability to create opportunities for his teammates and praised his unique playing style that disrupts opposing defenses.

These additions complement the returning players, Kobe Newton, Oleg Kojenets, Cort Roberson, and Levi Brown, providing the team with a strong foundation for the upcoming season.

Furthermore, Wicks had previously secured commitments from Obi Agbim, Scottie Ebube, Cole Henry, and Jordan Nesbitt. Additionally, Matija Belic, Nigle Cook, Jehvion Starwood, and Touko Tainamo reaffirmed their commitment to the Cowboys despite the departure of former head coach Jeff Lender.

With the team now assembled, fans eagerly anticipate the performance of the Wyoming Men’s Basketball Team as they gear up for the 2024-25 season.
