Indiana’s “Assembly Ball” Secures Top Seed in The Basketball Tournament’s Butler Bracket

The alumni of Indiana University are preparing for an important competition as they organize their team, “Assembly Ball,” to contend for the grand prize of $1 million at The Basketball Tournament in July. In an exciting development, the long-awaited bracket for the tournament has been revealed, with “Assembly Ball” named as the No. 1 seed.

The tournament is scheduled to begin with a highly-anticipated matchup between “Assembly Ball” and the Valparaiso alumni team, “The Cru,” on July 19 at 8 p.m. ET. Viewers can watch the action live on the Big Ten Network at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

In a preview of the Butler regional bracket, “Assembly Ball” will seek to overcome their first challenge and secure a place in the next round. If successful, they will compete against the winner of the Men of Mackey versus Fort Wayne Champs at 8 p.m. ET on July 21 on FS1.

“Assembly Ball” boasts a lineup of former Hoosiers including Jordan Hulls, Devonte Green, Juwan Morgan, Miller Kopp, Race Thompson, Troy Williams, and Yogi Ferrell, as reported by The Basketball Tournament’s official website. The team also includes talented players such as Julian Gamble (Miami), Keith Hornsby (LSU), Kristian Doolittle (Oklahoma), and Rion Brown (Miami).

Christian Watford and AJ Mahar have organized the skilled team, which is under the leadership of head coach Adam Ross, with Isaac Green serving as the assistant coach. Ross has previously coached former Hoosier Will Sheehey at Sagemont High School in Florida, while Green currently holds a position on the IU staff as a video and player development analyst.

If “Assembly Ball” emerges victorious in the Butler regional, they will advance to the highly-anticipated semifinals and the ultimate showdown for the $1 million winner-take-all championship game, scheduled for August 2 and 4 at the renowned Daskalakis Athletic Center in Philadelphia, Pa.
