The Fargo Force ice hockey team has recently made an exhilarating addition to their roster through the acquisition of Sam Laurila, a highly talented player hailing from Moorhead, and a dedicated athlete committed to the University of North Dakota (UND) hockey team. Laurila has been brought in from the Sioux City Musketeers in exchange for two draft picks in 2025.
In his role as a defenseman, Laurila has demonstrated his exemplary skills over the past two seasons with the USA Hockey National Development Team, amassing an impressive record of 7 goals and 19 assists in a total of 95 games. This acquisition comes at a particularly intriguing time as the Force is scheduled to commence their season on Sep. 27 against none other than the team Laurila previously played for – the USA Hockey NTDP.
This strategic move not only bolsters the Fargo Force with local talent, but also augments the team’s depth and expertise. It marks a significant milestone for both Laurila and the Force as they prepare for the upcoming season.
It is always heartening to witness local talent being acknowledged and pursued by professional sporting organizations. We eagerly anticipate witnessing how Laurila’s expertise and proficiency will positively impact the Fargo Force in the approaching season.
