The University of Connecticut’s men’s and women’s hockey teams have recently revealed their schedules for the upcoming 2024-25 season. The women’s team is set to commence their season on September 27th against Minnesota, while the men’s team will begin on October 5th against Colgate. Both teams will be competing at the Toscano Family Ice Forum.
The men’s hockey team has the opportunity to play four games at the XL Center in Hartford, a decrease from the six games played last season, due to the Connecticut Ice being held at Sacred Heart. These games include matchups against Holy Cross on October 12th, Vermont on November 2nd, Providence on February 1st, and UMass Lowell on February 8th. The remaining home games will take place at the Toscano Family Ice Forum.
In non-conference play, the UConn men’s hockey team is scheduled to face off against Colgate at home on October 5th-6th, Holy Cross in a home-and-home on October 11th and 12th, Harvard on the road on January 4th, and Alaska Anchorage at Toscano on February 12th. Additionally, the team will participate in two tournaments: the Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off in Milwaukee on December 28th-29th and the annual CT Ice on January 24th-25th. Notably, UConn’s opponents include challenging teams such as Wisconsin, Alaska Fairbanks, and Ferris State, adding to the competitive nature of their games.
On the other hand, the UConn women’s hockey team will open their season with an exhibition against Quinnipiac on September 21st before officially beginning with a series against Minnesota on September 27th-28th at Toscano Family Ice Forum. The team will also face Penn State at home on October 4th-5th, Harvard on the road on October 19th, and participate in the Nutmeg Classic on November 29th-30th at Sacred Heart for their non-conference games.
With a total of 34 games scheduled, half of them will be played at Toscano. The regular season will conclude on February 22nd at BU. Importantly, every home game and Hockey East contest for the women’s team will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Both the men’s and women’s teams are eagerly anticipating an action-packed season, and fans are eagerly anticipating their on-ice performances. The schedules have been positively received by supporters and are promising an exciting season ahead for both teams at UConn.
