IKEA has recently announced the inauguration of nine new Click & Collect points at Tesco locations in the West Midlands. The new points are located at Tesco sites in Coventry, Dudley, Rugby, Solihull, Stoke-on-Trent Kidsgrove, Stratford upon Avon, Warwick, and Worcester, as well as Tesco Shrewsbury Extra.
To find the nearest IKEA Click and Collect points, customers can visit the IKEA Click and Collect Points website or use the mobile app. The Swedish furniture giant has expanded its Click and Collect service to celebrate the opening of the 100th Tesco mobile pick-up point, following a successful nationwide roll-out.
This convenient service is free of charge for orders over £100 and costs £5 for orders below that amount. Customers can place their order on IKEA.com, through the IKEA App, or with the assistance of an IKEA co-worker, either remotely or in-store, and then collect their items from their local participating Tesco store within one of two daily collection windows.
The scheme was initially tested in 2022 before being rolled out nationwide late last year. With the opening of the 100th pick-up point, IKEA plans to establish an additional 100 pick-up points, with half of them set to open this year. Customers have been quick to embrace the new service, giving it a 91 per cent approval rating.
Jakob Bertilsson, Country Customer Fulfilment Manager at IKEA UK, expressed excitement about the expansion, stating, “The opening of the first mobile pick-up point in the West Midlands—our one-hundredth in the UK—marks an exciting moment for our journey to become more accessible. As we continue to see a shift in our visitors’ desires for even more convenient shopping, we need to constantly develop and improve with better and more affordable services. Our ambitions to double our Click & Collect offering, combined with the strengthening of services such as IKEA Home Delivery, means we are now closer than ever to people in all parts of the UK.”
Simon Williams, Tesco’s Assets and Estates Director, also commented on the collaboration, saying, “We’re always looking for ways to serve our customers better and help make their shopping experience even more convenient. We are pleased to be working with IKEA to give their customers the option to collect orders from more of our stores. We are proud of this 100th Click & Collect point milestone and hope this continues to improve the shopping experience for Tesco and IKEA customers.”
The partnership between IKEA and Tesco has undoubtedly brought added convenience to shoppers in the West Midlands, and with plans for further expansion, even more customers are set to benefit from this collaborative effort.
