The Cheboygan Chiefs hockey team exhibited notable improvement as they clinched a hard-fought 4-3 victory at Cadillac. Despite having only 11 skaters, the Chiefs demonstrated exceptional teamwork and determination, earning praise from their coach, Seth Duncan. Senior forward Gavin Rose led the team with two goals and an assist, contributing to the team’s success along with Braxton Esper, Noah Gingrich, Brody Carter, and Warren Farver. Coach Duncan commended the team’s solid performance and offensive strategy, highlighting their remarkable progress. Inland Lakes Boys Basketball Rebound
Following a challenging defeat in their season opener, the Inland Lakes boys’ basketball team bounced back with an impressive 63-37 victory over Johannesburg-Lewiston. Senior Sam Schoonmaker’s outstanding performance, recording 26 points and 10 rebounds, played a pivotal role in the team’s win. Aidan Fenstermaker, Connor Wallace, and Noah Shugar also showcased their skills, contributing significantly to the team’s success. Coach Lee Nash expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance and stressed the importance of continuing to build chemistry and cohesion. The Bulldogs are now preparing to face Bellaire in their upcoming game as they strive to maintain their winning momentum.
