Freshman Addy Brown of Iowa State University is quickly establishing herself as a dominant force on the court. Bill Fennelly, the coach of the Iowa State women’s basketball team, has expressed confidence in Brown’s potential, even suggesting that she may have the ability to play in the WNBA in the future.
Coach Fennelly, speaking from the Sukup Basketball Complex, has voiced his belief that Brown has the potential to join the ranks of the greats in Iowa State women’s basketball history. He has even mentioned the possibility of her picture being displayed alongside former Cyclone players who have been selected in the WNBA Draft over the years.
After delivering an outstanding performance and coming close to a triple-double in a recent game, Brown’s talent is undeniable. Her next challenge comes as Iowa State prepares to host Troy, a highly anticipated event in which fans and spectators eagerly await another memorable display of her skills.
Even before Brown began her journey at Iowa State, Coach Fennelly held high hopes for her. Hailing from Derby, Kansas, Brown was already an exceptional talent in high school and has continued to rise in her career. Coach Fennelly has even compared her burgeoning talents to those of former Iowa State greats Bridget Carleton and Ashley Joens, recognizing the potential for a successful career in the WNBA, similar to Carleton and Joens. His confidence comes from observing the journey of numerous players to the professional level, including both the women’s and men’s teams, who have gone on to play in the NBA and WNBA, respectively.
