A Friday to Remember: Victories and Standout Performances for LHS Athletics

Last week proved to be a momentous period for the Lancers as they achieved significant victories and put forth impressive performances in a variety of sports. The boys basketball team emerged triumphant in a thrilling match against their Rockwood rival, Marquette, thus putting an end to a five-game losing streak. Simultaneously, the girls basketball team celebrated their first win of the season against Oakville, with Maria Golfo standing out as a key player. Additionally, the boys wrestling team achieved a commendable 4th place finish in a tournament, while the hockey team secured a resounding win following a challenging loss.

The boys basketball team’s victory over Marquette was hard-fought and well-deserved, marking a turning point in their season. With their spirits lifted, they are now preparing for the Coaches vs. Cancer game against Eureka, an eagerly anticipated event aimed at raising funds for cancer research. Similarly, the girls basketball team is focused on building upon their recent win and regaining momentum as they gear up to face off against Eureka in their own Coaches vs. Cancer game.

In the realm of winter sports, the boys wrestling team demonstrated their prowess by overpowering Northwest and putting on an impressive showing in the KC Stampede Tournament.
