Bath Rugby is pleased to announce that England prop Will Stuart has agreed to a contract extension with the club, ensuring his presence until at least the summer of 2026.
Stuart, who commenced his professional rugby career with Wasps in 2014, has also had loan spells with Blackheath, Moseley, and Nottingham. However, the 27-year-old made the transition to Bath in 2019 and has since made 71 appearances for the club. Although his previous contract was set to expire at the end of the current season, the recent extension means he is now committed for an additional two years.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the news, Stuart stated, “I am truly delighted to be extending my tenure with the club for the next two years. Bath Rugby has become my home, and the presence of such an exceptional group of players, coaches, and support staff is what makes this place so special. I believe we are on the brink of achieving great things, and I am eager to be a part of that.”
Stuart’s impressive performances on the field have also earned him a place in the England squad, with his international debut taking place in 2020. He has been capped 33 times at the international level and was part of England’s successful 2016 World Rugby Under 20 Championship campaign.
Additionally, Bath’s Head of Rugby, Johann van Graan, expressed his delight at the contract extension, stating, “We are fortunate to have exceptional tightheads at Bath Rugby. I am thrilled that ‘Stuey’ will be continuing with us. As an international prop, he has formed a formidable partnership both on and off the field. We are nurturing world-class talent here at Bath Rugby, and Will is a crucial part of our future.”
The prolonged commitment of a key player such as Will Stuart represents a significant milestone for Bath Rugby, underscoring the club’s dedication to maintaining a formidable team for the seasons ahead. With Stuart’s extension, Bath Rugby is poised to continue its pursuit of success in the Gallagher Premiership and beyond.
